He goes by several aliases, which gave me the perfect excuse to ask him for a second mix after enjoying his Early Reflections podcast so much. So this time, he returns as Jimmy The Biscuit.
Back home in Gran Canaria, he operates in the margins of the island's electronic underground. For the past seven years, his party collective The Highway has been a vehicle for his vision, based on uncompromising dance music, obscure references and a visual language both fancy and silly.
His orbit now extends beyond the island, as he takes his record bag as far as the dense woodland of Germany's Black Forest, where he played Klein und Haarig this summer.
He also hosts a bi-monthly show on UK radio platform Komrad.net, where he shares special selections paired with his own carefully crafted visuals. Part Y2K aesthetics, part sacred island rhythms: the intention remains a secret.
A decade of DJing and digging lets him move across many styles, but here he keeps to the deep end with an exploration of the most dubwise variants of house and techno. Warm basslines, floaty chord stabs and the occasional Eckhart Tolle sample make this mix a welcome companion on a rainy autumn day.
